Our Mission
What we do
Our goal is to protect endangered and threatened species living in critical ecosystems around the world. By purchasing, holding, and when we can, nationally preserving the land in its home country, we will create safe spaces for the species to live and recover.
What do we classify as a critical ecosystem? We consider habitat where threatened and endangered species are known to live as critical. Our priority targets are habitats that are home to endangered or threatened plants, animals, reptiles, fungi, amphibians, fish, gastropods, crustaceans, insects, and more! We also consider neighboring land in the path of excessive destruction or environmental disturbance critical, and worth protecting.
What makes us different
There are many other nonprofits in the world dedicated to environmental restoration. There are even those that work to establish national preserves and sanctuaries. We are grateful for their efforts and the progress they make. However, we have noticed that these nonprofits tend to have many undertakings and their funds are spread amongst many other tasks. Additionally, the ones that do protect land tend to only focus on preserving large swaths of habitat, requiring massive funding, time, and resources.
Here at AquaTerra Biomes, our priority is protecting natural ecosystems. By purchasing and paying local taxes on our holdings, we can acquire land with far less funding while preserving land with immediate effect. As we continue to strategically accumulate holdings over time, we will work with local governments or other nonprofits to convert our natural areas into nationally protected biomes.
Preservation with Purpose
AquaTerra Biomes is dedicated to preserving the natural world, learning about our ecosystems, and spreading knowledge about our biomes and the organisms that live within.
Our environmental biomes will be accessible on a case by case basis to scientists, educators, ecologists, and photographers to acquire and distribute knowledge across the globe.
Our Core Values
Nature is our birthplace, our home. We are connected to it and all of the organisms that live there. It is our responsibility to ensure that we preserve nature, its life, and all its unfound discoveries for our future generations to come.
